A striking image from an exotic place has the power to transport its viewer vicariously, sometimes inspiring the imagination to the point of setting out on a journey in search of the real thing. For me, it was the pictures that filled the pages of National Geographic and travel magazines that prompted me to begin travelling independently, and, as a result, develop my passion for photography.

I’m often asked about what motivates me to travel to remote and sometimes hard to reach destinations, and the answer is simply curiosity. The need to see something for myself, to experience and better understand the diversity of humanity and our shared world. From the Great Pyramids at Giza to the azure sea of Mozambique’s Bazaruto Archipelago, my photography projects have taken me to many beautiful and culturally diverse corners of the world.
